About Me

For a few {ok, alot of} fun facts about me: Don’t ask me to talk much in the morning until I had my coffee {black}, unless its a White Caramel Mocha from Starbucks. I have a tendency to push important jobs to the back because when I do them they have to be done right, & in an organized fashion. I can get something done very quickly, but for true satisfaction all the details must be covered. Being outdoors, especially in flowerbeds and the garden is one of my favorite past-times. Also I love sunning and swimming-there is absolutely nothing quite like soaking up the sun and sweating it out. [this crazy girl says, the more heat the better!] Summer is my favorite season {obviously}.  Pink is my go-to color, red also does quite nicely. White chocolate or caramel candy {or pretty much anything sweet} is the bomb! Full Moon are the best times of the month. Horses and anything cowboy is sure to attract my attention and money, they are such elegant creatures and I wish I could ride one. Christmas is my all-time favorite holiday, Valentine’s day follows. Birthdays [and now Anniversaries] are so super important to me, don’t ask me why?! I’m like a kid when it comes to birthdays-probably cuz gifts make me feel so loved. Snail mail is still pretty cool I think. I wonder how it would be to be an actor. My emotions are best expressed crying alone. Seemingly I can’t hide how I’m feeling very well. People say when I am around my cheer n laughter is contagious to everyone-I think it comes more from my jabbering n outgoing personality. Sometimes I wish I was naturally quiet. Family and friends are the best thing to surround yourself in, have lots of them. But be all alone somedays. Falling stars are a promise to me. I am not afraid to be different. Kids make my life complete, I can’t imagine life without them and I would do anything to make a kid feel loved. Helping people makes my heart sing. Enjoyment in playing games was handed down to me from my mom and my grandpa, I hope to pass it on to my children. Always use your manners and tell people you appreciate what they are doing is IMPORTANT to me. Change is one of the best inventions of all time, it might be hard sometimes, but it is sooooo exciting!!!!:)

So these are just merely things I enjoy and appreciate, the real passion of my life are relationships.
My relationship with my Lord, my husband, my family and friends.
These are the things that matter the most in life and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

I’ve heard plenty people complaining about people that post about their ‘perfect little life’ all the time, and even though I think we have a perfect lil life and am extremely happy, I just want you to know we are NOT perfect, we struggle, we disagree, we don’t always get everything done we wish we could, we make each other cry, but that means we are normal people who have been redeemed by an incredibly great God and thats how we can have joy through imperfections. I don’t ever want to be a discouragement to others, one who makes everything look perfect all the time; but I also want what I post to be for the most part, refreshing and beautiful. The world is constantly focusing on and portraying all things ugly, i don’t feel the need to add to it. But in the times when things are a lil rough, i have folders full of pictures and diaries filled with memories reminding me of all the good times we’ve had! Even if no one would ever read my blog or comment, I would still post just the same-not only am I remembering all the things that I have to be grateful for, it makes me actually sit down from busy life and journal it all. My desire is that your time here will be edifying and encouraging, whether it be through heart thoughts or snapshots into our daily life. May it make you smile.

About my Blog

I started this blog for 3 reasons which will tell you a lot about me.

#1. Documenting. Important details, Journaling or a diary, Taking note of ‘happenings’ has always been of great importance to me, I don’t know how many journals/tablets/diaries/notes you would find should you dig through my ‘packed-up boxes’, but it would be alot! Ever since I was around the age of 12, I documented things, it wasn’t always consistent, but if someone wanted to know when we had a big day of freezing corn last year(or anything random)-it was probably me they would come to to find out when that was. So my goal here is to document any important things that take place in our life together -however big or small- whether it be personal, about us, and as we begin our family. Through writing and pictures-fun things that I don’t want to forget. I want it to be a treasure chest filled with memories and love recorded to be pulled up at any time. And lessons learned through hard times to see God’s faithfulness. I would like for my children to be able to browse through it and be blessed! Family is so very important to me and I always want to make that a priority, even on here!

 I will also be sharing on our journey of ttc & our involvement in providing Foster care.

#2. Writing. I mentioned journaling. If I need to process something, the best way I can do so is through writing. I also love talking, so sometimes that works too, but I tend to be a very loyal person, so usually the only way I will spill out what I am going through to you is if I trust you to be honest and true as my friend. I don’t want you to be my friend because you think you should be, I want you to be my friend because you care and want to be my friend. And well, Proverbs 27:6  is what I think of when I know who my friends are. But if it’s a personal thing I have learned that writing is one of my best outlets and a pen n paper is a dear friend indeed, especially if I ‘need to figure it out’.. So I’m not gonna spill my ‘uncensored’ guts on here but I do love writing when I’m processing something. So I may share my deep thoughts and lessons I’m learning; for me to remember it for the future, and to bless you in your journey. So here’s to being vulnerable.

#3. Photography. I do love taking pictures! In fact my family thinks I get rather overbearing at times. but then it makes me smile when they need a picture taken, who do they ask?! 🙂 Yep, me! I love it! I do in no way consider myself a professional and have never taken any classes or studied it. Occasionally I will google what a certain term means, or I’ll ask one of my photography friends. Basically what I know is what I have seen and heard and experienced with 🙂 That’s what I feel I am doing right now, just experimenting with it and it kinda stuns me how many friends have asked me to shoot pictures for them. I’m always glad to oblige but warn them what a rookie I am! I will probably be posting most of all my pictures…just for fun:)

My Story

Wow, every night that i snuggle in beside my hubby, i think, am i really married to this guy?! and i’m still so in love with him? and i grin and get all warm fuzzies n give him a tight squeeze just to make sure he is actually there beside me, and also because i want to take advantage of every day we have together. life is short and i don’t want to live with or create regrets. everyday is a gift and it’s been one of our greatest keys in our happy marriage-opening every moment as a beautiful treasure. {honesty & patience are 2 more very important keys!}

Looking back, I smile.

As a young girl I so desperately wanted to get married and depend on my husband to take care of me…I dreamed and prayed for him many a night, even before I knew his name.  As I matured into a young lady and in my relationship with God, i really felt Him calling me into ‘something’ – and as it  turns out it was something[s]! At this point i was like, no….this whole marriage thing can just wait, i’ve got some things to do and so i think i need to learn how to pave my way a bit…and i always depended on everyone else to get me thru life as my sister just older than me is very capable! maybe start dating at 22 n get married at 23..{i’m not specific at planning am i? just thought it’d be perfect!} [wow] From age 15 to 19 I worked at home with my Mom and we had a daycare in our home, taking care of anywhere from 2 to 11 kids. At age 19 old I went to TN to teach 3rd & 4th grade. absolutely loooved it and wanted to teach again, but the door just seemed to be closed and God led me to go work for my brother that year, rest of 2009, [they had twin babies n i also homeschooled my niece in grade 1].  now it’s 2010 and i’m 21! {meaning: i’m responsible for all my own money-not a big whoop-dee-deal to me!} in January & February i did a 8 wk mission trip to Ukraine, came home for a month and moved to El Salvador for a schoolterm at a deaf school where I served as the dorm mom for the lil girls that attended the school, plus did all the washing and cleaning for the house where all of us staff lived. that year had such a huuuuuge impact on my life, there is NOway i can even begin to describe what all i learned and experienced there. to name a few: living with people as family that are not your family.  the language of deaf people. the cultural barrier that is there whether one wants it or not & how to handle it-GO all the way their way as MUCH as you can! Jesus as my true Father, relying on Him instead of people. how the US needs ‘missionaries’ just as badly as any other country. and probably the most important-putting my future ENTIRELY in His Hands and LeTTiNG Go.

Coming back to the US at the end of that year, 2010, I didn’t know where I belonged. i hadn’t really been committed to any church (i resisted being where I was before I left, but during that year in ES i could look back and see God really was directing me for the bigger picture, each place and experience being a stepping stone, and came to a beautiful peace that I was to go back to MO as a ‘holding place’ until God shows me the next step.) My sister got married in the next month. and so it was January 2011. i finally buckled down & bought a car and got a job at a bulk food store, actually really enjoyed the work. but was getting restless……. so..i get a phone call to come teach school in Colorado a few months later, tough one but after much praying i decided to go and was getting all excited about it! dontch’ya know, a couple weeks later….the man i fell in love with way back in 2008 called and asked me out on a date!! I was so excited and of course said YES. we went out on our first official date June 17th, 2011. you can read *our story here*. we got married on May 19th, 2012, and thus begins ‘our life together on this blog’ 🙂        ***blows kisses to all***
